立场文件 Committee: general assemble Topic Area: The Development and Security of Nuclear Power Country:Turkey School:Zhejiang university of technology As of our geographical situation Turkey connects Europe to Asia,and such strategic location makes Turky a natural energy bridge and consumer markets between areas in the Middle East and Caspian Sea regions .However, more than half of the energy demand in Turkey has been met through imports. Moreover,energy planning studies show that energy demand of the country will increase parallel with its development and industrialization.So is the other parts in the world.Wherever and whenever it is,the demand for energy is always increasing.In order to support and orientate the target growth and social developments of Turkey and the world,we should well exploit and utilize the nuclear power. At the same time,nuclear and radiological incident and emergencies of various causes and types occurred,especially the one happened in Japan weeks before.And all the evidence demonstrates the importance and need of an efficient system in which the nuclear power can be well and safely developed.Follows are our advice: First chapter concerning the development of nuclear power: Human Resources Development We should educate students in the field of nuclear engineering. The personnel in the nuclear field in its research and training centers, laboratories, test facilities, pilot plants without energy producing purposes and also on may as well be educated. International Co-operation and Initiatives Co-operation with international/national groups on theoretical and experimental projects concerning SMRs and innovative technologies would lead to an increase of staff capabilities and experience on nuclear technology in Turkey.Thus a better use of nuclear power can be made.So,the wide co-operation system should be set up.
