Labour Productivity in Hong Kongs Manufacturing Industries， 1982 - 1994 一九八二至一九九四年香港製造業的勞工生產力 The labour productivity index (LPI) is compiled by relating an output index to an index of labour input. The LPI for an industry in a year therefore ref1ects change in output of that industry over the base year， after discounting the effect of different amounts of labour input in the two periods. From another angle， it ref1ects the change in output per unit of labour input. The labour productivity indices for the major manufacturing industries have been published in earlier issues of this Digest.
