To obtain this condition, the suction line has to be: As short as possible and well insulated. Pressure drop in the line should be as low as possible. Avoid sharp bends and gas traps . Dimension suction line for optimal liquid velocity. The pipe diameter should be selected and designed for flow with an average velocity of approx. 2m/sec.. If two pumps are connected to one tank outlet, the split of the line should be in ” Y “ shape. Branch valves to be as close as possible to the main line. No loads applied to the pump.
