In the West, people use a special symbol to indicate the books title, and reflects their love, cherish of their books, this is the bookplate. Bookplate originated in the fifteenth century Germany. Prevalent in the eighteenth century. After World War II to contemporary era, creation and collection of bookplates worldwidely entered a new peak. This thesis is inspired by Walter Benjamins famous concept aura, to reveal the unique characteristics and charm of bookplate, which is quote a unique form of art , explained why the call it has thisnever fade away aura . This thesis particularly combined the experience of the auther who is major in engraving. I hope this can make more Chinese readers attracted by the charm of the bookplate, the dumping of even more artists are willing to try to make bookplates, in order to make our profound Chinese culture shining the light of the times.
