This paper presents the algorithm depthjoin for query ingXML mu ltiple bran h path based on index. The algorithm en odes the XM L do um ents and reates an index for them. It restores the single path of the mu ltiple bran hes path using sta k on the pro ess of m at h ing of the query tree, judging if the bran h nodes have the same an estors or parent by the index. Com pared w ith the ex isting algorithm s, the algorithm does not need join the single paths. The query effi ien y is superior to the ex isting algorithm s.
