This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Through the analysis of the situational teaching mode and the case teaching mode, the authors think that the case teaching mode plays an active roles in stimulating students’ interest and guid- ing students’ creative thinking and that the situational teaching mode embodies the teaching phi- losophy of “student-oriented”. Combing the situational teaching mode with the case teaching mode to apply in the course of “information security” meets with the advanced teaching philosophy, achieves the course requirements, makes students establish a good awareness in information se- curity and achieves better teaching results.
