B Phonetic Summary Useful Expressions for Invitations and Thanks 3.Invitation letter “There be”structure A Reviewing the following “There be” structure is used to indicate the existence of objects or people, etc. 1) positive: There be(is, are, will be/was, were, would be )+ n.+ 地点/时间状语 2) Negative: There be + not +n.+ 地点/时间状语 3) Question: Be + there + n.+ 地点/时间状语 4) Answers: Yes, there be. No, there be not. 5. B Imperative Sentences Imperative sentences are used to indicate a demand, an order, an invitation, a suggestion, or a warning, etc. 1 Positive: Do ... e.g. 1) Have some water. 2) Be sure to get there before nine. 3) Get out. 4) Take care not to catch cold. 2 Negative: Don’t + v. / Never + v. e.g. 1) Don’t worry. 2) Don’t be late again. 3) Never do that again. 4) Don’t be standing in the rain. 3 Let’s + v. e.g. 1) Let’s put the sugar into the water. 2) Let’s go now, shall we? 4 Invitations and Thanks Part I Listening A.
