傲慢与偏见-浪漫主义
Jane Austen is a famous realistic novelist with a tendency of Romanticism. In her Pride and Prejudice, she revealed her endless romantic feelings through the realistic technique. She created many characters in a romantic artistic form. She idealized the characters, upheld the true love and looked forward to the natural, peaceful and idyllic life, which shows deeply the tendency of “Reason Outside and Romance Inside”.People?who?are?in?favor?of?the?opinion?of?Romanticism?have?several?reasons.1、 Advocating the happy and perfect marriage patterns.崇尚幸福而完美的婚姻模式 In Pride and Prejudice, compared with the realistic social representative of that time—Charlotte, Elizabeth and her sister Jane both had the perfect marriage. Austen portrayed Jane as a perfect character. Her gentle kindness, openness, friendliness and thoughtfulness. She loved Bingley at first sight and gained the true love which was not blocked by pride or prejudice. This is the perfect and complete love portrayed by Jane Austen and the outpouring of Austen’s romantic emotion. Elizabeth is the ideal representative of Austen, and she devoted all her personal feelings to Elizabeth. She is looking forward to marriage based on love. Appearance, pedigree, property are not the decisive factors of a happy marriage. On the contrary, the harmonious feeling, noble-minded character, the same ideals and interests are the essential factors of a perfect marriage. This fully reflects the characteristic of Romanticism of the author’s advocation toward the perfect and complete marriage. Austen was hopeful about her life. She yearned for the abundant and settled life and pursued the marriage based on love. She placed her good wishes on Elizabeth and got a concrete realization.
