William Shakespeare (1564-1616) “Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer’s Day” is the typical Elizabethan, also called Shakespearean or English sonnet, consisting of three quatrains with the rime scheme ABAB CDCD EFEF and a couplet with the rime GG.
