Abstract Drought stress is one of t he chief environment al stress factors to turfgrass growth In recent years the
research on turfgrass drought stress has gradually become a hot spot , and the great progress has been achieved.
Many researches in China w ere concentrat ed in mechanism of drought resistance. However, its still in t he initial

stage in com paring w ith ot her crop science in China and turfgrass industry abroad T he research methods drought
resist ance identification, mechanism of drought resist ance and its im provement methods w ere summarized in this
paper . T he current stat us of research on t urfgrass drought stress in China such as existing problems, research key
point and development t rend were also discussed.
