The project proved that a pavement designed to provide a 30-year design life can be constructed in a series of weekend closures, even in the most heavily truck loaded route in the state. The project included four full-depth AC replacement sections (1.6 km in total), located under freeway overpasses, where the existing concrete pavement was removed and replaced with AC.
