Chapter 1 Speed Reading Ⅲ. Scanning What is scanning? The process of scanning Decide exactly what information you are looking for and what form it is likely to take, keep the question or the key word in your mind; Decide where to look to find the information, the menu, the index, or, sometimes the technique of skimming, will be helpful; Move your eyes quickly down the page until you find the information you need. Move your eyes rapidly across each line, quickly underline the numbered word each time it appears on the same line.  Move your eyes down the column, looking for the key phrase and mark it. Mark the key phrase every time it appears in the groups of unrelated phrases. Read from left to right just as you normally would read a paragraph.
