Unit 1 The written word The novel which has two main characters has come out recently. It tells of such a story: a mayor abusing his power for his son, doesnt live up to the expectations of the Party and the people and at last is put into prison. His son, whom the mayor spoils very much, is unable, vain, full of criminal violence and has some vices. But he is desperate to run a company and intends to be a millionaire. To get enough money, the mayor abuses his powers taking bribes and secretly borrows public funds, being generous to his son. But his company which consists of 200 people, is in debt. Because the products are of bad quality, it has a bad reputation. At last, the mayor is accused of several crimes and sentenced to life in prison.
