Abstract Korean TV dramas have gained a huge success in Chinese market in past thirty years. This paper aims to analyze the reasons why Korean TV dramas are so popular and successful, and the impacts on Chinese TV dramas. Based on the results from the questionnaire and interviews with students and adults. It’s found that many factors determine the success of Korean TV dramas in China. The contributing elements for its success are the similar but more fashionable culture with China, the unique artistic fascination and the perfect marketing strategy to the aboard. Also by comparing, Chinese TV dramas still need to improved in many elements and there is a lot we can learn from Korean TV dramas.
