The gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method was used to analyze the chemical components of essential oil in heartwood of China fir, 36 types of compounds were separated out, and their chemical structures for 23 types of them were determined and their contents possessed 90.758% of the total mass of essential oil in heartwood of China fir. Cedrol, which accounted for 67.355% of the total mass of essential oil, is one of maj or components of essential oil in he heartwood of China fir. The findings are agreeable with the results of other researchers.
