Xin jiang Institute of Meteria Medica Abstract: Objective To optimization of the extraction conditions and β-cyclodextrin(β-CD) inclusion process for volatile oil from Compound Yixin Granules. Method Volatile oil was extracted by steam distillation method, using the orthogonal design. The yield of volatile oil was used to evaluate the extraction process; β-CD inclusion complex was prepared by saturated aqueous solution method, orthogonal test was used to optimize inclusion technology with ratio of volatile oil toβ-CD, inclusion time and temperature as factors, and using inclusion yield and volatile oil inclusion rate as indexes. Result The optimized volatile oil extraction condition was to add 10 folds water into the mixture of crude drugs, and to extract the herbal medicine for 5 h with advanced soaking for 8 h with water. The optimized inclusion procedure was as follows: the proportion of volatile oil andβ-CD was 1:10 and stirring for 2h at 40℃. Conclusion Inclusion complex of volatile oil-β-CD had the stabilities to light, heat and humidity. ,these optimized extraction and inclusion technology conditions were reasonable and feasible.
