实习报告 After International Labor Day, we went to the 13th International Vegetable Sci-Tech Fair in Shouguang for English practice. Shouguang is the biggest market of vegetables in China, for it has a long history of agriculture. And it is the village of vegetables in China. This fair shows us modern agriculture especially new technology, new varieties, new results of vegetable industry. It has 8 pavilions and many other areas. Although it is a feast about agriculture, it also benefits us as English majors. First, I want to say that we are a big family for this was the first time our college went outside together. We spent a whole day visiting a great variety of pavilions as a group. It’s very difficult to organize a meaningful activity to feel the world outside. So this practice provided a good chance to understand our society and realize our dream. Second, learning is not just in the classroom. The world is a big stage, so there’s a lot of knowledge worth to obtain everywhere on earth. But what we most need is that we should find it. Though we eat vegetables and fruits every day, we did not focus too much on the new species. For example, there are some special vegetables like white eggplants and cherry tomatoes, which we do not know. After visiting the fair, I started to gain some knowledge about vegetables and fruits. In this fair, we can see many kinds of things we can not see in our daily life. As our teacher told us before, it really changed my idea about planting. Where does the sweet potato grow? The answer seems clear———the ground, but from the vegetable fair we can see the sweet potato is hung in the air. Pepper, eggplant and other vegetables are growing like trees. All these things we can never imagine. During my internship, I realized what the green vegetables mean. That is not only indicate the color of the vegetables, but also mean safe and healthy, high-quality and nutritional to us. And judging if it is a green vegetable or not, there are 5 standards.
