Equal policy Obviously, no matter how we think about American individualism, “rampant” or “rough”, some aspects of it have been strictly restricted. Nevertheless, something must be pointed out that individualism is restricted though just because it works very well in some aspect, which is political system of individualism. No matter what they are, one individual or individuals, all of them are organized in the political system of individualism and then formed individual organizations. They fight for their own rights and create better conditions for themselves. There is a name I have mentioned before representing an outstanding aspect of individualism. That is Ralph Nader. It is inconceivable that person like Nader should have such great influence on other countries. He is neither appointed by the States nor supported by any organizations. Nader wrote the book Unsafe at Any Speed (1965), which mainly talks about the unsafety of cars. Because of this, Nader nearly undertook all the responsibilities on his own for the claims for car’s design and control. This book has changed American daily life. In changing people’s life, it is more directly and quickly than any legislation. Every American driver (mostly adults) enters car with buzzer ringing until he or she has already fastened seat bell. As the result of vigorous Civil Rights Movement, Americans Civil Rights Legislation was enacted. The success of Civil Rights Movement should give the credit to individual heroes and the greatest of these was Martin Luther King Junior. In the late 1960s, the Feminist Movement broke out. Its springing up was neither because of the encouraging of government nor the awakening of consciousness but the individual behaviors. As the most amazing and longest movement in the 60’s, it also forced government organs to realize their civil rights laws that they were to give the same attention to women’s rights as well as the blacks and other minorities.
