Wine plays an important role in the historical development of Hellenic Athens Polis. The dissertation tries to investigate the relation between Wine and Athens Polis in three dimensions. First,Wine,as an unique sacrifice in the religious ceremony,enjoys a specified faith and peculiar cult ceremony. Second,the plantation,harvest and brewage of Wine are important parts of agricultural economy,meanwhile,Wine,fictile and olive oil consisting the main pillar of economy in Athens Polis.In addition, Wine business promotes the commerical development of Athens Polis in Classic Times. Third, according to the development of Athens democracy, booming business and comercial activities and extending Wine plantation and output, Wine can be tasted not only by aristocrats but civilians.
