(1770--1850) Wordsworth’s Life Wordsworth was born and grew up near Lake district in northwestern England. His parents died when he was very young. 1787—1791, he went to study at Cambridge. 1791, he went to France to learn French in preparation for the career of a tutor. There he was greatly impressed by the revolution. He was also involved in a love affair with a French girl. 1799—1850, he was politically very conservative and lived in the Lake district in the company of his sister and his friend Coleridge.
