Especially in its service function, technical way and government involvement, the GI have constantly expanded and deepened with all efforts. By the international conference of Greening of Cities, the paper reviews the experiences and approaches of its application in three scales like site, city and countryside, and the function of its ecological services, then puts forward the worldwide ideas of the green infrastructure in the future. Finally, in view of the current research and practice situation, the paper proposes the goals and ways of the developments of urban green infrastructure in China.
