英美名著影视赏析 The Adventures of Tom Sawyer 《汤姆·索亚历险记》 1.1The author’s life and literary accomplishment In 1835 Mark Twain was born in the town of Florida, Missouri. Hannibal would become the model for St. Petersburg, the fictionalized setting of Twains two most popular novels, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn*. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer never deals directly with slavery, for example ,and ,while the towns dislike of Injun Joe suggests a kind of small-town xenophobia, Injun Joes murders more than justify
