Sometimes I have thought it would be an excellent rule(habit) to live each day as if we should die tomorrow. Such an attitude would emphasize(stress 强调) sharply(鲜明地) the values of life. We should live each day with a gentleness, a vigor, and a keenness(热心;渴望) of appreciation（欣赏;评定） which are often lost when time stretches（延伸） before us in the constant（连续的） panorama（综观） of more days and months and years to come. There are those, of course, who would adopt the Epicurean motto of “Eat, drink, and be merry,“ but most people would be chastened（punished 惩戒 ） by the certainty of impending（about to happen即将发生的） death. 　　　　???? ????
