Week 2 Monday 我的西班牙语 I’ve just arrived in Zaragoza, Spain for an important meeting. It’s 2:30 in the morning, Spain time, and I’m a__1__. Why? It call __2__ when I realized my housekeeper had washed my passport just a few days __3__ I was to leave. I __4__ a large part of the week getting another. On Friday, after little sleep, I rushed to a long meeting that __5__ at 4 pm. My flight to London was at 7 pm and I hadn’t __6__ yet, so I rushed home, packed and got to the airport just in time for the __7__. People here in Spain don’t speak __8__. Or it’s not at least the Spanish that I learned in high school __9__ my Mexican Spanish teacher. I don’t __10__ what they’re saying, and they __11__ don’t understand me. Even getting a taxi to the train station from the Madrid airport was __12__. And the __13__ is in Zaragoza, far from Madrid. I knew I had to buy a __14__ ticket. I was saying Zaragoza, but they couldn’t understand me. And when they __15__ did, they told me that the train ticket was __16__. I went to the information desk to find out what hotel I should stay in, and try to __17__ a train ticket for tomorrow. They didn’t speak English, and my poor American Spanish got me __18__. Then I realized I could rent a __19__ and probably beat the train there. I got a car and finally arrived in Zaragoza at about 1 am after a very long drive. I had the hotel address written down, but the streets here aren’t __20__. I drove around the city for an hour, street by street, until I found the hotel.
