Induced chemical defense in plant ,plant chemical communication ,relationship s be tween secondary plant metabolites and evolution ,chemical relationship s between plant and human and chemical e cology of marine plant are t he frontier fields needed attention of plant chemical ecology in t he 2 1st century . Progress in t hese frontier fields of plant chemical ecology will play an important role in sustainable develop ment , p articular in increasing agricultural production and effective control of p est ,disease and weed under ecological se curity in t he 2 1st century .
