Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Kang Junping from No.62 Middle School. It’s an honor for me to stand here to talk to you about my teaching ideas. The lesson plan I am going to talk about is from .I’ll explain how to teach and why do so from the following 5 aspects: understanding of the teaching material and analysis of the students, teaching and learning methods, teaching procedure, and blackboard design.
I Understanding of the teaching material
My understanding of the teaching material includes 3 parts: the status and the function, teaching objectives, and the important and difficult points.
Let’s focus on the first part. This reading passage is the highlight of this unit. It mainly talks about the biggest earthquake which hit Tangshan in 1976. By describing the terrible disaster, the students can know more information about earthquake and feel proud of our great nation and great people. So it not only contains the most important words and sentence structures of this unit but also embodies the theme of this whole unit.
2According to these, I set my teaching aims as follows:
⑴ Knowledge objectives:
By the end of this lesson, first Ss will have a better understanding of the meaning and structure of the text. Then Ss will grasp some useful words and expressions such as determined, make up one’s minds…….
⑵ Ability objectives
The whole class is for Ss to develop their reading skills as scanning, skimming, information-gathering, summarizing and guessing the new words from the text.
⑶ Moral objectives
Get the students to know more knowledge about an earthquake and know hot to survive and earthquake. Then get them to learn from the bravery of people in Tangshan to face the reality and rebuild the city, thus strengthening their strong will and make them love our nation and people. Develop the students’ spirit of comprehension and teamwork.
