Taxonomic studies of the group from China at early stage and progress achieved recently were briefly reviewed. A key to the known taxa from China was provided. The combination of traditional taxonomic studies and molecular systematics of the group showed that Botryosphaeria is not monophyletic and can be divided into several lineages in agreeing with their anamorphs.
