Today I’m going to talk about Part B Let’s talk of Unit4, from PEP Primary English, Book5. This section mainly deals with the dialogue about “what can you do?” and the answers “I can…
In the former class, the Ss had learned some pharses about doing housework.By studying of this unit, the Ss know how to ask “what can you do?” and how to describe doing housework with simple phrases and sentences. The study of this lesson will help the Ss to use simple English in communication.
II. Teaching goals
Therefore, on studying the teaching material and analyzing children’s learning characteristics, I put forward the teaching goals according to English syllabus and English Curriculum Standards.
1. Knowledge goals
(1) The Ss are able to understand and use:”Are you helpful at home? “ what can you do?” amd “I can… and use these sentences in real situations.
(2) The Ss are able to understand and read the conversation of the lesson.
2. Ability goals
(1) The Ss are able to use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper scene.
3. Affect goals
students can develop the love and pride for labor
III. Key-points and difficult points
Key points:
The use of the sentences “What can you do? I can … “ in real situations.
Difficult points:
The use of the sentences “ Are you helpful at home? “real situations.
VI. Teaching methods and learning methods
Teaching methods
Well, how to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods.
So in this lesson, I plan to use the task-based language teaching. It offers the Ss an opportunity to complete the tasks in which Ss use language to achieve a specific outcome. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss
