CLIA Fleet and Capacity Through the steady introduction of new products, particularly new ships, the cruise industry has enjoyed systematic growth, which will continue through 2013 and beyond. By the end of 2013, 167 new ships will have been built since 2000, representing some of the most dynamic and innovative design concepts the industry has ever seen. The diversity of the vessels introduced/to be introduced range from US and European riverboats to new classes of large contemporary ships ranging in size from 32 guests to 5,400.  13 ships introduced in 2012 (12 new, one refurbished), with 17,774 new beds.
