Current state of and measures for the development of
academic sports societies in China

Abstract: The author expatiated on the concept, characteristics and course of development of academic sports
community in China, and put forward the following measures for developing academic sports societies: perfect the
academic sports society organization system; strengthen society legislation to create a favorable legal and policy en-
vironment for academic sports societies; strengthen governmental supervision on society organization, and intensify
self-discipline of the societies; expand the shifting and commissioning functions of governmental departments, de-
velop a knowledge based industrial chain, and innovate the fund raising mechanism.
