读故事记2013高考词汇C1 Oliver is a very forgetful person. He had camp to go to this weekend and he had no film for his camera. He decided to go to buy some. As he was buttoning his jackets buttons, Olivers mother said, Dear, if you arent busy, can you help me buy some things? Oliver told her he can and she gave him a shopping list and said bye-bye. He went to the nearest store but he forgot it was out of business. He had to ride the bus to the next nearest one. He stood by the bush next to the bus stop and took out the shopping list. He had to buy a head of cabbage, a cake, and some butter. He arrived at the store called Jerrys Supermarket and was about to go in when he heard someone call his name. He saw it was Jeff, an old friend. They both went to a café to talk. Oliver spent two hours by chatting in the café. By the time he remembered what he had to do, it was dark outside. He rushed into the store and tried to buy the things on the list but he left the list at the bus stop. He told himself to calm down and so he can remember the list. He remembered and was able to find everything. He found a cage for his pet snake and a can of peaches for himself. He calculated the cost and had just enough for the bus home. The question was whether he can carry it all home. He called home and the call was answered by his mother. He told her he was coming home.
