Barely after the end of the Hundred Year’s War with France(1337) England was again blown into the whirlwind of civil war. 2. The War of the Roses (1455-1485) between the Lancaster and the House of York struggling for the Crown continued for 30 years. 3. Henry VII (1485-1509), taking advantage of his situation, founded the Tudor dynasty. Hundred Year’s War The Hundred Years War was a series of wars from 1337 to 1453 by the House of Valois and the House of Plantagenet, for the French throne. The conflict lasted 116 years but was punctuated by several periods of peace, before it finally ended in the expulsion of the Plantagenets from France. The War of the Roses The Wars of the Roses were a series of civil wars for the throne of England fought between two rival branches of the royal House of Plantagenet: the houses of Lancaster and York (the red and the white rose, respectively).
