The task is to tell the students something about speech and show them how to make a speech. 2. Process and method Make use of the PPT and show the students some pictures of speakers. After listen to the dialogue, the teacher should ask the students to act the dialogue and let them try to copy the pronunciation of the MP3. Sensibility and attitude valuation The teacher should prepare something about speech, because this lesson is about speakers’ Corner. This is a very important point to exciting the students. Teaching emphases New words and expressions in the dialogue Preparations The teacher should collect some pictures and video of some speakers. At the same time, the students should check some knowledge of speech and at least know on famous speaker. Teaching steps Warming up Teacher’s action Students’ action Design objective 情境导入法:Show some pictures of great speakers on the PPT and play the video of Obama’ Address Speech. Then tell the students something about the Speakers’ Corner in London. Look at the PPT carefully and answer the teacher’s question “Have you ever listen to a speech?” “Do you know one or two famous speakers?” Begin the class with some knowledge that the students don’t know, and cheer up their curiosity.
