Who knows the rice that feeds Is the fruit of hard toil ! * 贰 Xu Yuanchong’s three beauties thoery Xu Yuanchong (许渊冲) , a famous translator of Chinese ancient poems?into English and French, is distinguished for his translation thoeries and works. He recieved Chinese Translation Culture Lifetime Achievement Award(翻译文化终身成就奖） in 2010. “书销中外六十本，诗译英法第一人” * Three Beauties Thoery Xu Yuanchong first came up with the thoery of three beauties---ideological/semantic beauty, sound/music beauty and formal beauty in 1979. Among them, the ideological beauty is of the first importance; the sound beauty is of the second-rank importance; the formal beauty is of the third-rank importance. If we cannot maintain the three kinds of beauties, a translator should convey the ideological beauty and sound beauty at least. * 水调歌头上阙明月几时有？把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年？我欲乘风归去，惟恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间？ How long will the full moon appear?
