Development of the advanced navigation technology was conducted mainly at Delphi’s China RD Center. The product is already being delivered to major Chinese automakers. The 3D system offers stereoscopic images with a function to search optimum driving route based on speed, time and other conditions. It can also display landmark and public facility information on the screen. One of the most outstanding advantages is the elevated-road identification system, which enables the driver to check whether the vehicle is traveling on a high-level road or a general road, helping him/her take the right route. In addition, the navigation tool is integrated with Delphi’s audio system, supporting DVD, HDD, USB, flash-memory, iPod, iPhone and other media. Other functions of the 3D navigation technology include a touch-sensitive panel, a human machine interface system, a rear camera, and a hands-free phone system.
