梵高  Vincent Willem van Gogh  Post-Impressionism[impre??niz?m] （后印象主义）?is the term coined by the British artist and?art critic?Roger Fry(艺术批评家罗格·弗莱)?in 1910 to describe the development of French art since?Manet（莫奈）. ?Fry used the term when he organized the 1910 exhibition?Manet and the Post-Impressionists. ?Post-Impressionists extended?Impressionism?while rejecting its limitations: they continued using vivid colours, thick application of paint, distinctive brush strokes（笔画，笔触）, and real-life subject matter, but they were more inclined to emphasize geometric（几何学的） forms, to distort（扭曲，变形） form for expressive effect, and to use unnatural or arbitrary[‘ɑ:bitr?ri]（任意的） colour. Cezanne（塞尚） thinks that painting does not mean copying the reality; it means seeking all kinds of harmonious relationships. Post-Impressionism goes against the tradition.
