The water quality within 2-40min of backwash and 1-25min after backwash of 2 filters was analyzed, and the reasons of bad practice of quartz sand - ceramsite filters in the treatment of produced water containing polymers were analyzed. The main reasons include the filter clogging by polymers, unreasonable structure of the filters and that the dirty water in the initial time after backwash cannot be discharged from the primary system.
