They are generally acknowledged to be masterpieces of the genre. The gardens reflect the profound metaphysical importance of natural beauty in Chinese culture in their meticulous design. Text Suzhou gardens, noted for their beautiful scenes, elegant buildings and literary connotations, represent the concentrated essence of wisdom of the Chinese people. The unique charm led Suzhou Gardens to the World Cultural Heritage Site in 1997. Suzhou gardens enable one to feel the charm of mountains, forests and springs without going out of the noisy surroundings of the town.
