With China’s economy’s rapid growth, Chinese Han Buddhist temples have mushroomed along with more and diversified needs in function. Now numerous old Chinese Buddhist temples in existence are being renovated and expanded as a result of many social and economic aspects in Chinese Buddhism growth, and, agitated by the boom in construction projects of Chinese Buddhist temples, people begin to pay attention to again to the Buddhist culture. In such a situation, we are required to run a systematic study on the several aspects like Buddhist temples’ own spatial form, architectural layout, landscape configuration and garden construction site so as to work out a solution conforming to current situations and the development of modern Chinese Han Buddhist temples, through which Chinese Han Buddhist temples, the city and the nature are allowed to coexist rationally and thus develop orderly. In this way, the need to develop tourism and economy can be met and Buddhist doctrines and thoughts can be also spread and inherited more inclusively and profoundly.Therefore, this paper analyzes the architectural layout of modern Chinese Han Buddhist temples and its origin, then constructs the overall plan for every remaining Chinese Han Buddhist temple by sorting a certain quantity of Chinese Han Buddhist temples, or within a certain range, known through research findings, and finally sums up current situations of Chinese Han Buddhist temples and existing problems based ona certain amount of Buddhist temples’ plane diagrams and analytical graphics.
