Good afternoon, everyone. Now I’m glad to say “Go for it” Great 8 Book 1 Unit 10 I’m going to be a basketball player.( the first period ). I’ll divide the lesson into four parts. Part One : Teaching aims and demands 1.Knowledge objects 〈1〉the key words and phrases “computer science / computer programmer / a professional basketball player / a pilot / an engineer / an actor / grow up / take acting lessons / practice basketball every day / study math really hard”etc. 〈2〉the key sentences : ---What are you / they going to be when you /they grow up? ---I’m / We are going to be (a / an) … ---What is she / he going to be when she / he grows up? --- She / He is going to be a / an… ---How are you / they going to do that? ---I’m / We are going to … --- How is she / he going to do that? --- She / He is going to … 2.Ability objects Enable the students to talk about future intentions with the target language. 3.Moral objects Enable the Ss to love their lives and work . PartTwo:Teaching key and difficult points The teaching key and difficult points’ basis is established according to Knowledge objects of this lesson in the teaching material\s position and function 1.Key points: The usage of 揃e going to攕tructure. si2.Difficult points: How to make dialogues with the target language and remember the key words. Make sure that they can use them freely and correctly. PartThree:Teaching aids A tape recorder, word cards and pictures. Part Four:Teaching Procedures and ways: Step1 Lead-in Greet the students as usual , and let them talk abut their parents’ jobs. S1: My father is a …, my mother is a … S2:… Write the words of jobs on the board ,review and learn more about jobs. Such as : doctor, teacher , policeman, waiter, actor… Step2. New words learning.(1a) Show some cards to students and help them to learn some new jobs: computer programmer, basketball player, pilot , engineer ,teacher, actor study computer science How do you like these jobs? Now rank them please.
