一.Same-different
Pairs sit opposite each other.
Students look at different pictures.
Students ask each other questions.
二.Similarity Groups
The teacher announces the dimension.
The students think of their specific response.
The students group with others who have the same response.
The students share their choices.
三.Rally table round table round robin
The teacher poses a problem.
The students take turns to respond
a. rally table-students work in pairs and write down their answer.
b. Round table-students work within the team and write down their response individually.
c. Round Robin- students take turns to orally respond to the question.
四.Send-A-problem
Students write review questions or problems.
The teams send a problem.
The receiving team responds
Problem cards are returned to the original team or are sent to the next team.
五Numbered heads together
The students numbered off.
The teacher poses the question.
The students put their heads together and discuss the answer.
Teacher may ‘all No.2s present their group answer.’
六.Guess-the-fib
1. Each student writes three statements: two correct and one incorrect.
2. Students read all three statements to their teammates.
3. Teammates take turns guessing the incorrect response.
4. Students give the incorrect response.
七.Three-step interview
1. In pairs, one student interviews the other
2. The students reverse roles.
3. In their teams of four, the students Round robin to share what they learned from their partner.
八.Corners
1. Select a topic and names few (usually four) individual dimensions for it. Label r assign a different dimension to a different part of the classroom(the four corners).
2. Students select a dimension and record it on a piece of paper.
3. Students go to the dimension they choose.
4. Students share and paraphrase across corners.
5. Students return to their teams and review the dimensions.
