内容摘要 Abstract Motivation is one of the most important affective factors in Chinese learning, which has a great effect on Indonesian Chinese learners. Learning motivation is a dynamic psychological process, and has a certain relation to the learners internal and external factors. Therefore, it is of theoretical and practical significance to make a multi-perspective research on the motivation of the learners in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL). On the basis of the relevant research of the English teaching both at home and abroad and the research findings in the field of TCFL, this study is a comprehensive survey and analysis of the learning motivation of Indonesian Chinese learners within the framework of psycholinguistics, education, second language acquisition, etc., adopting many research methods such as questionnaire, classroom observation, interviews and so on, for a comparison and analysis. The ultimate goal of this study is to find the characteristics in learning motivation of the Indonesian Chinese learners in the natural learning environment, in order to provide reference and recommendations for improving the quality of TCFL. This study uses the class questionnaire as well as a follow-up survey to find out the Indonesian Chinese learners condition and acquire the dynamic development of their learning motivation. From the results of survey, the majority of the Indonesian Chinese learners have a much clearer awareness of their motivation. The Indonesian learners have three different dimensions of motivation in gender, grade, and whether he/she is of Chinese origin. Therefore, in the process of Chinese teaching, teachers should make a concrete analysis of specific issues and stimulate their learning motivation appropriately so as to produce better learning outcomes and teaching effect.
