2010年7月10日地图题 上海新东方雅思国际学习中心 写作明星教师 张保 文The three maps illustrate the change process regarding the layout of a village Staple (UK) from 1800 to 2000.
In the year of 1800, the residential area was close to the highway linking the village to the two cities (London and York respectively). Besides, in the southeast lay the expanding farmland. Great changes occurred just after 100 years (1900). The village could be accessed by rail directing to London, York and Leeds separately. And further, the residential pot expanded much across the road in comparison to the original. With a factory locating along the railway and the farmland becoming green belts meanwhile, the change embodied the environmental improvement.
When it came to 2000, the village underwent earth-shaking changes. Highway paving appeared in the southeast, which attached great convenience to the residents concerned. Business Park emerged along the roads and the residential place transferred to the north of the highway. The expressway sitting south, the commuting of villagers grew better than ever. Meanwhile, the railway was closed for some certain reason.

The two maps compare the city of Huntington, present and future. They mainly show changes to its road network.
According to the first map, there are currently two motor ways, the A1 and A14, and a railway line to the west of the town. Bronton Road connects the A1 with the ring road surrounding the town centre. On the western outskirts, the A14 heads north-west and crosses Bronton Road and the railway line, and then meets the A1 just south of an airport adjacent to the A1.
The map of Huntington in the future indicates a number of changes proposed by the town-planners. Firstly, the old A14 will no longer exist, and a new A14 will join the A1 just south of the railway station and lead all the way the ring road. Sec
