* Windshear warning (decreasing performance) When the EGPWS computer detects tailwind and downdraft conditions which exceed predetermined threshold limits the following will occur Audio warning “WINDSHEAR. WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR” sounds A red windshear message will appear on both PFD’s Alpha margin indicator (AMI) will appear on both PFD’s Flight director escape guidance is given Autopilot disengages two seconds after windshear is detected During those two seconds the windshear will provide escape guidance * The TCAS system allows identification and display of potential collision threats The TCAS monitors various range of airspace depending on what page the MFD is on The TCAS computer calculate s relative bearing, range and closure rate of other transponders to calculate collision hazards TCAS information is displayed on the PFD and TCAS page if the MFD TCAS information can be set through the CRT page of the RTU * TCAS top page Access main page TCAS main page Mode select key AUTO – RA’s and TA’s are generated STBY – all TCAS interrogations are generated TA only – traffic advisories are generated Altitude format key REL – altitude separation between the aircraft and the intruder ABS – corrected barometric altitude for the intruders altitude This will change the way the distance is represented on the MFD Test KEY When pressed for 9 seconds starts a self test TCAS test shown on VSI VSI scale display the RA When TCAS is selected in the MFD the four target signals appear Finishes with “TCAS system test OK” or “TCAS system FAIL” aural message OTHER traffic key Will control the display of other traffic Altitude display key Represents the ceiling and floor of the aircraft surveillance airspace * Display control panel TCF – selects the TCAS page for display on the MFD RANGE – selects the range of the TCAS page * TCAS symbols are used on the TCAS page to represent the different targets.
