What will you do in this summer holiday? If you have a chance to travel, which city/ country do you want to go? What countries in the world do you know? (eg. The USA , the UK, Japan) Step2. Presentation 1.Show a map of the world and some pictures of the places of interest in the world and ask: Do you know where they are? Look at this mountain. What is its name? What country is it in? 2.Present the new words: Japan——Mount Fuji the USA——the White House France——the Eiffel Tower Canada——the CN Tower the UK——Big Ben Russia——Red Square 3.Encourage the Ss to say more places of interest and the countries they are in.(eg. Italy, Canada, Australia, Germany) 4.Have the Ss look at the pictures in Part A on P7 and finish the exercise.
