The primary design challenge was to integrate the separate parts into a single campus while providing secure points of entry into the new ensemble. New construction along Wilsfiire Boulevard continues the wall of the gallery building to include a multimedia resource center. This structure steps up to a five-story studio building along Carondelet Street. The naturally lit painting and sculpture studios arc connected by a wide glass gallery that provides both circulation and space for the exhibition of student work. The new construction creates a unified courtyard bordering the student lounge and media center, and centralizes circulation.
