S1: I’m going to … T: Is she going to…? S2: No, she’s not… 2. Let’s read p.23-24. Step 2 Presentation Practice 1 Getting ready Point to each picture and ask questions that require Ss to answer with the target language patterns. T:( Point to picture A) Is he going to the hospital? Ss: No, he’s not. He’s going to the restaurant. T: ( Point to picture B.) Are they going to the swimming pool? Ss: Yes, they are. Continue with the rest of the pictures. Using the book Have Ss read the four sentences before listening. T: Let’s listen to the tape. Play the tape for A, then pause. T: Where’s he going? Ss: He’s going to the restaurant. Have Ss write A in the appropriate box. Continue with the rest. Practice 2 Getting ready Have Ss look at the sentences on the page. T: A. (S1’s name) can you read the sentence? Ss: Where’s she going? Ask another three Ss to read the other three questions. Have all Ss practice reading out loud to themselves for a few minutes. Using the book T: Now look at A. Where’s she going? Have one student answer. ( S1: She’s going to the bank.) Continue with the rest of the pictures. Have Ss answer truthfully for D. Provide extra vocabulary if necessary and write the new words on the board. Put Ss into pairs and have them practice the QA exchanges. Song activity Getting ready Have Ss look at the pictures around the lyrics. T: ( Point to the swimming pool). Where’s this? Ss: It’s the swimming pool. Do the same with the picture of movie theater. Using the book Ask individual Ss to read the lyrics line by line. Let’s listen to the t
