International Trade Practice 国际贸易实务 Chapter 3 Trade terms and price Prof. XU Chunxiang E-mail: chunxiangxu@126.com Reading Tips (1)  Trade terms refer to those terminologies （术语）which use simple words or phases or the acronyms （首字母缩 写）to describe the basic terms of the transaction, indicating the composition of the price of traded goods, the place of delivery and/or place and time of passing of the risk, assigning responsibilities and costs between the exporter and the importer.  Besides the cost covered in the calculation of export price, the price quotation in export trade should also indicate which party is to bear the expenses of freightage, insurance and other relevant charges, and which party is to bear the risks in case of the goods being damaged. 2 Reading Tips (2)  The Incoterms rules explain a set of three-letter trade terms reflecting business-to-business practice in contracts for the sale of goods. The Incoterms rules describe mainly the tasks, costs and risks involved in the delivery of goods from sellers to buyers.
