This paper explains the concept of the Historic Urban Landscape, which is to be understood as an innovative way to look at and to understand living cities in a similar fashion as understanding and interpreting Cultural Landscapes – in fact, the paper outlines the close relationship with and a borrowing of ideas from the cultural landscape discipline in managing the dynamic context of living cities.
