ABSTRACTAsthedevelopmentofthewebtechnologyandenterpriseinformationization,more andmoreenterprisesareusingService-OrientedArchitecture(SOA)tointergratetheir existinginformationsystems,achievingthesharingofinformationandthecollaboration ofworkingamongdifferentsystems.WebServiceisthecoretechnologyofSOA. Interactionbetweenheterogeneoussystemsintheenterprisecanbeachievedbyweb service.Thefunctionofasinglewebserviceislimited.Itisnecessarytocompose severalwebservicestoprovidestrongerfunctionsinmanyreal-worldapplications. BPELisakindoflanguagewhichdescribeswebservicecompositionasabusiness process.Itcomposesseveralindependentservicestogetherandconstructsabusiness process.BPELfocusesontheautomaticalrunningofbusinessprocess,butdonot supporttheinteractionbetweenprocessesandusers.However,manyprocessesin real-worldapplicationsarenotfullyautomaticaloperation,whichrequireuser involvement.TosolvetheproblemthatBPELdoesn’tsupportuserinteraction,thispaper improvedthelanguageusedtodefinehumantasksandthehumantaskperforming systemarchitectureintheexistingresearch.Ahumantasktransformationprogramwas designedandimplementedtoautomaticallytransformhumantaskintoanasynchronous invocationtoahumantaskmanageroutsideoftheBPELengine.Theprocessdefinition filecanbedeployedintoanyengine that support the standardBPELanditisneedlessto modifyorextendtheengine.Thehumantaskmanagerwasalsodesignedand implemented to maintain human tasks and actasa bridge between the process and user.This paper has accomplished the following tasks:① Itanalyzedthecurrentdomesticandinternationalresearchesabouttheuser interactionandrelatedtechnologiesofBPEL.Itanalyzedtheadvantagesand disadvantages of related researches.②It analyzed the process of user interaction, and improved the human taskdefinition language in BPELoftheexisting research, adding the definition of the deadline of the waiting of BPELprocess,taskclaimingandtaskescalation.③ ItresearchedthesynchronousandasynchronouspatternoftheinvocationtowebservicesinBPEL,andimprov
